Built in 1750-1800 when the ecclesiastical parish of Hill Bishop extended as far as the River Tone at Tangier. The original roof was possibly local slate or tile and the windows were Georgian bar.

The grounds of the original house encompassed Mr Whittaker's House on one side and Eagle House on the other side, and the land on which the bungalow opposite stands.

Mid 1800s

In the mid 1800's additions were made with the front and rear porch together with the extention to the Winchester Room, Reception and Vestry Room, Kitchen and Ladies ground Floor Toilet.

The windows were changed from Georgian to Victorian sash, and the roof was changed to Welsh slate.

The glazed front and rear doors were added in the last century.

1960s

The last private owner was Lady Waterfield (hence Waterfield Drive) and was sold to the NWB in 1963 who used it as their area office and installed the first lift.

1980s

Now a Grade II listed building, we bought it from the bank in 1988.

1990s

In 1990 we put in a second stairway and renovated the second floor.

2000s

In 2004 we upgraded the building for disabled access (lift and disabled toilet) as well as converting the cellar to a staff room.
